Located northwest of the Guardarrama mountains in the province of Castilla y León, the town of Segóvia is a little over an hours drive from Madrid. The most important historical sight is the Roman aqueduct built in the middle of the town, 2000 years ago. The 17th century cathedral and the Castillian Alcazar castle are also worth a visit. Besides such magnificent sights, the town is also famous for its excellent Castillian cuisine, the traditional taverns of the town offer all the delicacies of the region, such as roast lamb or succulent pork.
